Sonic Baptism
To honor the birth of my son Tommy, a Sonic Baptism was performed on February 8, 2014 at Audio Visual Arts in New York, NY. The baptism consisted of a soundtrack (a re-composition of music from my catalog), pre-recorded poetry read by the four participants (the parents, John & Caroline plus the two spiritual advisors, Jane & Ben) and a collective reading of the Walt Whitman poem ‘A Child Went Forth.’ A poem written by Jane was then read, followed by an original song by Ben, titled ‘Ahead of You.’
